Primary purpose of the role
A new role supporting Pensions Customer Experience team in ensuring we have market leading digital experiences. We want to redefine how we manage our digital products and how they interact and engage with customers throughout their end-to-end journey. We'll look to you to be a passionate advocate for great customer experiences, bringing your creative and strategic thinking skills.
You will work closely with the Product Manager to understand our strategic focus and customer problems, to execute market research to give us insight on wider propositions as well as define customer testing strategies as we move through the feasibility and design phases of our build.
You will be responsible for the end to end flow of designing a slick experience which solves our customers problem, from research to wireframes for the build team to then work off. As a UX Designer you'll be expected to bring creative range and a depth of thinking to this role. You'll be at the forefront of UX design solutions that employ and improve our principles, standards and design patterns, centred around best practice, consistency and re-use.

Key Responsibilities
Participating in the design and development of user-friendly and effective graphics, page layouts, icons and objects. Gathering user experience on graphics, page layouts, icons and objects. Integrating interface design with application logic and content. Maintaining and upgrading interface functionality for specific requirements, as needed.
Defining and executing the Customer Testing Strategy
Defining the Research approach and bringing insight to the table when informing our focus and potential solutions (eg. 3rd party solutions)
Share knowledge to support, develop and mentor others.
Collaborate with the wider dsign team to ensure that customer centric principles and design guildelines are in place and in the forefront of our delivery of digital journeys
Creating, delivering, and supporting high-quality design deliverables like concepts, user journeys, wireframes, UI flows and detailed UI design
Working closely with product owner, business and IT to create both new products and features and re-engineer existing ones.
Translating customer insights into designed experiences and forming a compelling story around it
Working with project teams and key stakeholders to develop and own the delivery of user centred solutions within project timeframes and objectives
Work closely with IT to understand where there are technical constraints in journeys and adjust the designs appropriately protecting the customer experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
UX design/research experience - experience in designing digital journeys, customer testing and market research, Experience in creating wireframes, prototypes and user flows. Ideally in a financial services environment, with an understanding of design standards, accessibility and SEO
You must be analytical and be comfortable reviewing data to identify challenges in journeys and recommend solutions. You must be able to clearly articulate issues and work with IT on solutions for compelling journey improvement.
You need to be able work collaboratively and use your expertise and insight to take wider teams on the “journey” to ensure we have the best digital journeys possible.
Can demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to articulate information in front of stakeholders
