The Role

Our User Researcher plays a critical role in informing product development through user insights. This role supports product teams by identifying key research needs, conducting user-centred research across the product lifecycle, and delivering actionable recommendations that influence design and strategy.

The role supports LiveScore’s goals and objectives by ensuring business decisions align with real user needs and behaviours.

As the sole User Researcher within LiveScore Group, you will work closely with Product, Design and wider business stakeholders to understand our users and help shape the products and experiences we build. You will have the autonomy to identify where research can add value, shape research questions, select the right approach, and take studies from initial problem through to actionable insight.

The role offers significant exposure across the business and a broad range of research, from exploratory and generative work through to evaluative studies. You will have the opportunity to shape research direction, experiment with new approaches and influence how research is used across LiveScore Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead exploratory and generative research to uncover user needs, behaviours, problems and opportunities.

  • Partner with Product, Design and wider stakeholders to identify the questions worth answering and where research can add value.

  • Connect customer insight to product strategy and the roadmap, helping teams identify and shape opportunities.

  • Select and apply appropriate research methods, balancing generative and evaluative approaches as needed.

  • Independently plan and deliver research from problem definition through to actionable recommendations.

  • Synthesise qualitative, quantitative and behavioural evidence to generate clear, meaningful insights.

  • Build strong stakeholder partnerships, bringing research into product discovery, decision-making and prioritisation.

  • Evolve research practice by introducing new methodologies, approaches and tools, including AI, to improve the quality, efficiency and impact of research.

  • Advocate for the customer and confidently challenge assumptions where research provides a different perspective.

  • Communicate findings clearly and persuasively, ensuring insights are understood and acted upon.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Skilled in a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, usability testing, diary studies, surveys and other generative and evaluative approaches.

  • Skilled in independently designing, conducting and analysing research, with strong judgement around methodology and research design.

  • Able to translate ambiguous product or business problems into clear research questions and actionable research plans.

  • Able to synthesise findings across multiple methodologies and data sources, translating evidence into clear insights and recommendations.

  • Understands how research can inform product decisions, identify opportunities and shape the wider roadmap.

  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills.

  • Competent with research tools such as UserTesting, survey platforms and product analytics tools, or similar.

  • Curious and confident in using AI to improve research practice and explore new ways of working.

  • Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity.
