Vision vs Iteration

Talk at UX Brighton 2019

Teams that iterate without a vision are working blindfolded. The constant pressure for new features and growth can push product teams into endless cycles of iteration, so they miss opportunities at best and ignore threats that could upend the business at worst. It is easy to plan only for the short term and overlook the future bets needed to survive. In this talk, Brendan Kearns shares models and ways of working that designers and product owners can use to focus on both the short and long term, covering the value of a vision, measuring big bets through experimentation, and turning a vision into a roadmap.
