About the role

At Google, we focus on the user and all else follows. Our Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people.

From creating user flows and wireframes to building mock-ups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined and magical feel. You will join a multidisciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management and using user insight to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you will apply user-centred design methods to craft industry-leading experiences from concept to execution. You will work with design partners to evolve the Google design language and build beautiful, innovative products.

You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, UX Research and Content Strategy to solve complex user problems at scale and deliver intuitive, high-impact experiences across Google Health workflows.

As a UX Designer, you will independently own end-to-end design workstreams within a high-priority product area. This includes upstream problem framing and user journey mapping through to high-fidelity prototyping, design system alignment and launch readiness. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to turn ambiguous product challenges into cohesive, user-centred solutions.

The mission of the Platform and Devices Health team is to empower users to live longer, healthier lives by seamlessly integrating Google AI into their health and wellness journeys.

We are reimagining Fitbit to create an innovative, AI-first experience anchored in actionable coaching. You will provide continuous, proactive and personalised guidance, including advanced fitness support and comprehensive sleep insights.

The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together Google technologies and AI, health behaviour science and user-centred design to help people organise their health and wellness data, gain insight from it and take action towards their health goals.

We do this through a suite of apps, services and health wearables, aiming to make consumer health more personal, proactive and actionable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, scope and deliver high-craft interaction and visual design solutions across end-to-end user journeys with minimal oversight.

  • Identify patterns across features and workflows, anticipate edge cases and technical dependencies, and address root-cause user pain points rather than surface symptoms.

  • Collaborate daily with Product Management, Engineering, UX Research and Content Design to align on priorities, trade-offs and launch-readiness quality standards.

  • Partner with UX Researchers and use quantitative product metrics to validate hypotheses, iterate on prototypes and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Apply and contribute to Google design systems, maintaining high visual and interaction quality across web and mobile surfaces.
