Handlesbanken

London

Job introduction

Handelsbanken combines a long-established relationship banking model with secure, resilient and customer-focused technology. Our technology teams enable the Bank’s decentralised way of working, delivering systems built for stability, trust and long-term value.

We are on a multi-year technology and digital transformation journey to enhance customer experience and improve how colleagues work together. By modernising platforms, simplifying processes, and better connecting data and systems, we help relationship teams focus on customers and less on complexity.

Our decentralised culture extends to technology. Teams are trusted to take ownership, make informed decisions and deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions. We value engineering excellence, pragmatic problem-solving and strong collaboration across Technology, Business and Risk.

We offer Technologists the opportunity to build lasting careers, deepen their expertise and contribute to meaningful change. We look for people who care about quality, security, long-term impact and shaping the future of a relationship-led bank.

We also recognise that flexibility can support people to perform at their best, and that it looks different for everyone. While arrangements will depend on the requirements of the role and the needs of the business, we are open to having a conversation about what flexibility could look like for you.

About the role

As a recognised leader in responsible banking, Handelsbanken is focused on driving positive outcomes for customers, colleagues and society, with a growing emphasis on sustainability, digital enablement, and improving colleague and customer experiences.

Working within the Customer Lifecycle team responsible for Salesforce CRM, you will help shape the future colleague experience across our CRM. We are looking for an experienced UX or Product Designer with a strong track record of designing complex digital products and operational workflows.

Salesforce or enterprise CRM experience is valuable but not essential. More important is strong end-to-end design experience, sound product judgement and the ability to work effectively within technical and platform constraints.

You will work closely with Product, Technology and Business stakeholders to create colleague experiences that are intuitive, efficient and aligned to the needs of Handelsbanken's branch network. Experience in banking, financial services, another regulated industry or large-scale enterprise digital transformation would be particularly valuable.

What you will do

  • Design end-to-end colleague experiences across Salesforce CRM and related platforms.

  • Translate business requirements, operational challenges and user needs into clear workflows, journeys, prototypes and detailed designs.

  • Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers, Architects and stakeholders to shape initiatives from discovery through to delivery.

  • Lead design activities across the product lifecycle, including research, workshops, requirements exploration, concept development, prototyping and usability testing.

  • Develop multiple solution options for complex problems and help stakeholders evaluate trade-offs and recommendations.

  • Create high-quality wireframes, user journeys, service blueprints, interaction designs and production-ready specifications.

  • Support Engineering teams throughout delivery to ensure design intent is maintained and solutions meet user needs.

  • Contribute to design standards, reusable patterns and continuous improvement of colleague experiences across the customer-lifecycle estate.

  • Help identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce operational effort and improve employee productivity.

  • Work within the constraints of regulated banking environments while maintaining a strong focus on usability and customer outcomes.

What we are looking for

Research from Harvard University shows that women are particularly likely to second-guess themselves and not apply. If you are worried you do not meet all the criteria, get in touch anyway and let us do the worrying.

  • Significant experience designing and delivering complex digital products, services or platforms.

  • Proven experience taking products or capabilities from early concept and discovery through to implementation and live release.

  • Strong product design expertise across user experience, interaction design, information architecture and service design.

  • Experience designing workflow-heavy products, operational tooling or colleague-facing platforms.

  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to influence product direction through evidence, insight, prototyping and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Experience working closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers and Architects throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops, design reviews and requirements-shaping activities.

  • Proficiency in Figma and modern product design tools and techniques.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience working in banking, financial services or another regulated industry is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms would be advantageous.
