We are looking for a passionate and ambitious UX/UI Designer with a strong focus on responsive web and native app design, an interest in user research, and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies. Join us at Argus Media and help bring complex ideas to life.

We need a focused, creative individual who can understand the objective at the highest level while delivering down to the finest detail.

Working as part of the Argus Technology department in our central London office, you will work closely with several cross-functional teams and directly with internal customers.

This exciting role requires you to be resourceful and adaptable. You will work on a variety of projects and products, including innovative AI-powered experiences, with the chance to make your mark on the direction of the company. You will need to be passionate about the customer experience, ensuring it runs as smoothly as possible and using insights from your own user research studies and analysis to guide your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the user experience of a range of Argus Media digital products across responsive web and native platforms.

  • Design for Flutter-based applications or similar cross-platform frameworks, creating a single design that delivers a strong user experience across Android and iOS.

  • Understand when intentional platform-specific adjustments are required while maintaining a consistent experience with enterprise desktop applications.

  • Gather and evaluate user and stakeholder requirements in collaboration with Product Owners, Product Managers and Engineers.

  • Champion design quality throughout the development process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, intuitive, scalable and reusable solutions.

  • Understand technical limitations, provide clear handovers, review implemented designs, raise defects, collaborate with development teams to resolve issues, and challenge implementations where necessary.

  • Define the right interaction models and evaluate their success.

  • Visualise design ideas using storyboards, mock-ups, low- to high-fidelity prototypes and AI-assisted design tools to rapidly generate, explore and refine concepts.

  • Represent the UX function across various teams and products.

  • Facilitate design workshops with teams to collaborate on initial ideas and wireframes.

  • Turn functional ideas, use cases and user stories into prototypes for user testing and development.

  • Build on and extend our component and interaction libraries.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Prior experience in a similar hybrid UX/UI design role, with a focus on responsive and mobile app user experience design.

  • Strong knowledge of responsive design for web and mobile interface technologies.

  • Ability to manage multiple mobile projects across different apps at the same time.

  • Strong product and UX design experience designing enterprise applications with complex user journeys for specialised domains.

  • Proven expertise in data visualisation and business intelligence dashboard design.

  • Expertise in rapid paper prototyping and visualising journeys and interactions quickly and efficiently.

  • The ability to approach design solutions with both short- and long-term scalability in mind as products evolve over multiple sprints.

  • Knowledge of designing and expanding design systems, including components, pattern libraries, documentation and emerging patterns for AI-assisted user experience.

  • Experience applying UX best practices, usability principles and WCAG accessibility guidelines.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and workflows verbally and visually to senior stakeholders.

  • Experience independently conducting user research studies, including analysis and reporting, particularly usability and lab testing conducted remotely and on site.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, Flutter and other web and native iOS and Android front-end frameworks.
