Role Details
Location: Chancery Lane, WC2A 1EN — hybrid working: three days in the office and two days working from home or another location.
Function: Digital Product
Salary: £33,000–£38,000, dependent on skills and experience, plus up to 15% bonus, health benefits, up to 10% matched pension, 25 days’ holiday and benefits.
Some digital journeys end with a transaction. Ours lead to a great night’s sleep.
We’re looking for a curious and creative Junior Digital Product Designer to help shape how millions of Premier Inn guests discover, book and experience their stays. You’ll work across the complete digital guest journey, from searching for a hotel room and making a payment to interacting with digital devices during a stay.
We have a great team, and you will be working within a multidisciplinary Digital Product team. You’ll help uncover guest and business problems before turning insights into intuitive, accessible and commercially effective experiences. You’ll create user journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-quality UI designs across web, app and other digital touchpoints.
Research will be central to your role. You’ll support usability testing, interviews and concept validation, while using customer feedback, competitor analysis and digital analytics to understand what is happening and why. You’ll use those insights to improve your designs, test new ideas and create better experiences for our guests.
Collaboration is important in our business, and you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Business Analysts and fellow Designers throughout discovery, design and delivery. Your contribution to our design system, support for design quality assurance, and help ensuring experiences are consistent and inclusive will be key.
What We’re Looking For
Experience designing consumer-facing digital products within sectors such as retail, hospitality, travel, supermarkets, gambling, leisure or ecommerce.
Proficiency in Figma, including components, prototypes and reusable design patterns.
A working understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and inclusive design.
A portfolio demonstrating user journeys, wireframes, interaction design, prototyping and visual UI.
A genuine interest in research, problem discovery and evidence-based design.
Experience of web, mobile apps, or both.
An interest in AI and emerging technologies, with curiosity about how they can be used to improve the design process and create better customer experiences.
The ability to explain your design thinking and collaborate effectively with Product and Engineering teams.
This is an opportunity to develop your product design career while creating connected digital and physical experiences that make a meaningful difference to Premier Inn guests.
