We’re looking for a creative and user-centred Senior UX Officer to join our Digital team at the National Autistic Society.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that’s committed to designing inclusive, accessible digital experiences that work for everyone.
This is a full-time position for 35 hours per week. The salary for this position is £30,000 - £33,000 per annum.
Who we are looking for
You’ll be an experienced UX designer with a strong grasp of accessibility, user research and inclusive design. You’ll be confident creating wireframes, prototypes and final UI designs, and comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has extensive experience designing wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma, Sketch or InVision
Understands accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and inclusive design principles
Has strong visual design skills and attention to detail, with a focus on usability and clarity
Can conduct user research and usability testing, and translate insights into actionable improvements
Is confident presenting designs, advocating for user needs, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders
Is adaptable, open to feedback, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
Has a good understanding of front-end development principles and how to work effectively with developers
You will be responsible for
Conducting user research, usability testing and analysis to understand user needs and behaviours
Creating wireframes, prototypes and final UI designs that are accessible, responsive and aligned with our brand
Advocating for autism-friendly design principles, including reducing cognitive load and ensuring sensory-friendly interfaces
Collaborating with developers, content designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences
Iterating on designs based on feedback and user insight
Staying up to date with UX trends, accessibility standards and best practices
Supporting the wider Digital team in delivering inclusive, user-centred improvements across our platforms
