What will I be doing

Due to the continued growth of our R&D department, we are looking to hire a Senior UX/UI Designer in our London office. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office (Thursdays and Fridays). As you will be one of our sub-leaders in the UX/UI team you may also need to travel to our Cambridge office at times.

Our Senior UX/UI Designer will be providing strategic mentorship and support to other designers within the UX/UI team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This role will see you leading the design of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI based on complex user needs as well as overseeing and conducting user research, usability tests, and experiments to refine designs. You will also develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated design systems and  processes.

Communication is important here as you will be collaborating with the UI development team to create viable products for testing and partnering with the technical teams to balance user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.

You will drive innovation by exploring new ideas using various visual interfaces and cutting-edge technologies at Darktrace, including AI, AR/VR, and motion-sensing technology.

What experience do I need

We encourage applications from senior designers with a proven track record in UX/UI Design with a passion for understanding user needs and creating products that serve them. We envision this role progressing down a leadership path rather than being an individual contributor.  You'll also likely have the following:

  • Significant experience with design systems for both desktop and mobile platforms,

  • Advanced familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD and Adobe suite (3D, motion software and programming knowledge a bonus),

  • Expertise in creating infographics and data visualizations,

  • Keen eye for maintaining visual consistency across multiple digital products,

  • Strong portfolio showcasing advanced UX/UI work,

  • An understanding of cyber security concepts and common threats such as malware and phishing scams,

You may also be asked on your familiarity with Darktrace products and technology from available sources (e.g. official website).
