About The Role

We at PEI Group are looking for a Lead UX Researcher to join our welcoming, diverse, and growing Product team, based here in London.  PEI is an established and expanding B2B company offering a mixed product suite (SaaS subscription products and non-SaaS), produced for the Private Equity market. 

In this role, you will lead the UXR team, mentoring less experienced members, producing strategies and processes, a UXR playbook and concurrently deliver insights through your own practice. You are the advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle, playing a critical role in shaping the user experience of our products, by deeply understanding user needs and behaviours. 

You are a listener and have an interest in learning about niche financial industries and the various personas within them.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Conducting Market and User Research: 

    • Plan and execute a variety of research methods, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and user observation. 

    • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities. 

    • Create user personas, journey maps, and other research artefacts to communicate findings effectively. 

    • Conduct competitor research to establish market-fit and benchmark our products against others.

  • Advocating for the User: 

    • Represent the voice of the user throughout the product development process influencing decisions based on UR findings.

    • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure user needs are met at every stage. 

  • Building and leading a Research Culture: 

    • Foster a data-driven culture within the product team. 

    • Mentor and guide the UX research team. 

    • Develop strategies for working within and outside of the existing processes. 

    • Stay abreast of the latest research methodologies and industry best practices. 

  • Communicating Research Findings: 

    • Clearly and concisely communicate complex research findings to a non-research audience of stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other appropriate formats. 

  • Tools and Technologies: 

    • Proficiency with user research tools such as GA, Dovetail and Heap.io. Experience working with CRMs. 

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a customer insight, data analytics, or a similar role in a digital company.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a team lead in a similar capacity.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software

  • Strong understanding of customer behaviour analysis and market research methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Knowledge of digital marketing, e-commerce, and customer journey optimization is a plus
