What you’ll be doing day-to-day
Strategic leadership and vision
Drive the overall vision for user experience design projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and user needs.
Lead the creation of project roadmaps and define clear goals, timelines, and deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the strategic direction for client accounts, focusing on customer journey improvements and optimisation.
Contribute to the development of Biglight’s design and research processes and advocate for continuous improvement.
Research and insights
Lead the planning and execution of user research activities, including developing research plans, conducting sessions, and synthesising findings.
Analyse both qualitative and quantitative data to uncover insights that influence key project directions.
Provide actionable insights to clients, ensuring research findings are translated into strategic design decisions
Design and Excellence
Oversee the creation of key UX deliverables, such as wireframes, prototypes, and journey maps, ensuring high standards across projects.
Guide the design process from concept through to final implementation, balancing creativity with usability and functionality.
Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity across all design work, setting a standard for quality and best practices.
Client Collaboration
Act as the primary point of contact for client projects, ensuring alignment with their business goals and providing expert guidance on user-centred design practices.
Run workshops, present complex ideas, and facilitate discussions that help clients see the value in the design decisions made.
Foster long-term relationships with clients, positioning Biglight as a trusted partner and driving repeat business through exceptional delivery and insight.
Support Strategic Thinking
Stay at the forefront of design trends, tools, and technologies, integrating new methodologies to enhance Biglight’s design processes.
Contribute to Biglight’s thought leadership content by sharing insights from projects, leading internal workshops, or speaking at industry events.
Learn and Develop
Mentor and guide junior team members, offering feedback and supporting their professional growth.
Support the Experience Design Director in building a collaborative team culture, helping to develop training programs and onboarding processes.
Lead by example in terms of work ethic, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
Experience, Skills, Education, and Personal Attributes
6+ years of experience in UX or experience design, with a proven track record of successful client projects that showcase both design and strategic leadership.
Expertise with design tools like Figma, Miro, and others, as well as knowledge of testing and user feedback platforms.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and present complex design concepts and insights in a way that resonates.
Strong experience in mentoring and leading team members, with the ability to inspire and elevate the team’s work.
Demonstrated capability to drive user research initiatives and integrate insights into actionable design solutions.
Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
