About You

You are a UX designer with an emphasis on clear, clean, and fun interactions. You are a true UX practitioner. A process nut. You are creative, intuitive, and always learning. You have an interest in providing a healthy way for users to escape the stress of the day.

What You’ll Do

  • Craft high-quality designs for our web and mobile platforms and own your designs from initial concept through to implementation

  • Contribute to and help evolve our design system in Figma, ensuring consistency across products and platforms

  • Create interactive prototypes to share and explain your designs and micro interactions using Figma, Protopie, or Origami

  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Copywriters, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into effective UI designs

  • Present your design proposals and clearly articulate your decisions, backing them up with contextual rationale and user insights

  • Help your design teammates and provide constructive feedback in design reviews

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of professional product design experience on consumer applications or mobile games

  • An online portfolio of strong mobile or web design work

  • Deep knowledge of Figma and experience working with established design systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow you to explain your design decisions

  • Sense of ownership and responsibility

Bonus Points

  • A love for the game of Chess and knowledge of our product

  • Experience designing for mobile games

  • Motion design and UI animation skills

  • Design engineering or frontend development experience

About the Opportunity

  • This is a full-time position

  • We are 100% remote (work from USA or CA!)

  • This role is open to applicants who can work in American timezones.
