Nando’s has been in the UK and Ireland since 1992 and we’ve grown from a single takeaway store in Ealing, London to over 450 restaurants across all locations.

Whilst we always look back on our history and story with pride, the story is still evolving and recently we have been growing our digital capabilities to ensure the Nando’s experience remains relevant to modern-day customers.

The Customer Team plays a pivotal role in helping us to reach our audiences to drive customers into our restaurants and digital channels.
 

As a Product Designer, you will

  • Actively lead the work of one or more experiences/domains under the direction/support of the Lead within a cross functional team.

  • Contribute to our Design System with Tech colleagues, proactively recommending changes.

  • Manage/lead a project on its own, oversee through multiple projects, collaborating with the members of other product teams. Consider multiple use cases for solutions (different channels, contexts, etc).

  • Discover, define insight and ideate on a problem, with a solid understanding of heuristics and UX methodologies, while having the UI chops to use existing components from our Design System or create lovely gorgeous new ones.

  • Be used to using research and data to validate your thinking within the design process. Conduct user testing interviews, write surveys, and report back findings to the Lead Researcher.

  • Supporting teams with prototyping, A/B testing & training, guidance, mentoring on how to build tests.

  • Ensure we design our experiences to enable customers to seamlessly transition between our digital and physical channels.  A champion of accessibility, you will ensure our digital products and services are inclusive for all.

  • Know that words and narrative play a strong part in explaining design decisions, presenting work with the relevant context to the UXD team, peers and stakeholders.

  • Mentor, help and educate as needed. Evangelising the UXD team & design thinking in the organisation.

  • Be comfortable presenting or facilitating workshops.

  • Keep current with trends, stay ahead of the curve.

  • Suggest improvements in existing methodologies and feed up to the Design Leadership. Contribute to our communities of practice through knowledge-sharing and presentations with other members of the UXD team.

You have

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a product role or evidence of strong cross transferable experience.

  • Experience can be varied across industry but some domain specific experience can help but is not necessary.

  • Delivered multiple instances of successful work within product areas, with a solid understanding of the double diamond process, heuristics and UX methodologies.

  • Be a strong collaborator, balancing the voice of the customer with business goals, pushing for the best experience possible.

  • Excellent attention to detail and craft, you pick on up the little things before anyone else.

  • Excellent knowledge of tools for design and delivery (e.g. Miro, Adobe CC, Figma, ProtoPie).

You are

  • A proven self-starter with the ability to work confidently within ambiguous environment.

  • Passionate about all things design with a good level of product thinking, market fit and customer experience.

  • Aware your words count. How you describe your design decisions is as important to the success of your work as the work itself.

  • Able to manage your time effectively and know when to say no or ask for help.

  • Able to ask for open feedback, listen and take appropriate actions to course correct.

  • Someone who wants to show up as the best version of you at work.

  • In depth knowledge in your subject matter, strong knowledge other domains, the holistic customer experience and the business.

This will be based from our Putney office 3 x a week
