About The Role

The UX Team is on a mission to craft exceptional user experiences, playing an instrumental role in shaping the future of Checkatrade. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior UX Product Designer to join our in-house team. You'll be responsible for defining user experience and interaction design for multiple complex features across both web and app. You’ll regularly use empathy, logic and your knowledge of user-centred design to inform writing and design choices for cross-functional and cross-platform projects. You'll work collaboratively and transparently while maintaining high standards regarding best practices, accessibility standards, etc. to influence product vision as part of a multidisciplinary team. Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire or Kings Cross, London. Hybrid working applies. 3 days in the office minimum.

Reporting to the Lead UX Product Designer, you'll manage and execute the delivery of UX projects to support our strategic vision. You'll partner with Product to define customer problems that align with our commercial priorities and strategic objectives. You'll manage the design process from conception to launch for your product team to deliver impactful solutions in an agile way. You'll craft exceptional flows and experiences that are easy to use and follow our design principles. You'll plan, conduct, and analyse user research to gain deep insights into user behaviours, preferences, and pain points. You will be our UX champion by advocating for a user-centric approach to product development. If you are creative with fresh ideas, this is the role for you! Sound good?

What do you need to succeed?

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Previous experience with customer-facing products.

  • You're a strategic thinker and an expert in translating user behaviour into great user experience and design

  • You’re proactive, organised, curious, humble, and empathetic, and you can multi-task across multiple workstreams.

  • A deep understanding of UX, IA, and UI principles and best practices, with a proven track record of creating user-centred and intuitive experiences.

  • Proven experience utilising wireframing/prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Axure.

  • Experience in designing and developing mobile and web applications.

  • Expertise in delivering UX work for Product Development teams in an agile environment.

  • Designing within brand standards and design systems.

  • Experience in UX Research methodologies.
