We are currently recruiting for a Senior UX Researcher to join the UX Research & Accessibility team based in London. We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about understanding people, and curious about the relationship between financial resilience and digital products. This role could be ideal for you if you are currently in a mid-weight role and interested in stepping up to a senior position or for those who are already established as a senior researcher.

As a Senior UX Researcher in the User Centred Design team, you will work alongside a team of product designers, product owners, content designers, and accessibility consultants.

A bit about the job

This role is focused on competitor research, meaning it’s all about how Aviva stacks up against the market by using a variety of methods to elicit insight and make recommendations, underpinned by compelling storytelling, beautiful presentations, and robust metrics. This could be a mix of desk research, expert reviews, qualitative/quantitative usability studies, and interviews among others.

We value a diversity of perspectives from many different backgrounds, and we come from industry and academia, with roots in anthropology, design research, human-computer interaction design, human factors, and sociology. 

Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office this role is based in, London.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Experience with planning, conducting, and reporting user experience research that provides tangible findings with clear actionable recommendations and usability metrics.

  • This role includes a competitor focus so we expect candidates to have experience with benchmarking, competitor analysis, and qualitative/quantitative usability studies; repeatability of studies over a period to measure progress is key.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a cross-functional team including designers, product owners, developers, business stakeholders, and senior executives on complex financial services products in a regulated industry.

  • Must be able to produce high-quality reports and be comfortable presenting to a range of audiences including senior leadership and C-suite levels.

  • A curious mind, willingness to learn, and not afraid to bring new ideas to the table.
