Last Friday I had the privilege of attending my 2nd UX Brighton conference. The theme this year was AI’s role in UX. We heard from 9 inspiring speakers about how we can implement generative AI and LLM’s while exploring the risks, ethics and challenges of doing so. Maggie Appleton’s powerful talk on the future of the web was particularly thought provoking, introducing the term “AI slop” - unwanted, unhelpful AI generated content and her concept of the “Dark Forest” - a web filled with bots talking to each other with no human connection. It was great to have the opportunity to network with talented UX professionals and enjoy the conference with some of my Capgemini colleagues. I’m looking forward to reinvigorating my working practices in my own career with renewed motivation! hashtag#UXBrighton hashtag#UXbri hashtag#UX hashtag#generativeAI hashtag#MachineLearning hashtag#userexperience hashtag#UXDesign hashtag#UXResearch https://www.linkedin.com/in/gemma-shaw-22863b127/Gemma Shaw
