🌟 Reflections on UX Brighton: AI, Opportunities, and Creativity 🌟 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending UX Brighton for the second time, with some of the team from Made Tech and it was an incredible experience once again! A big thank you to all the remarkable speakers—your insights were truly inspiring. The focus of the conference was AI, a topic that's more relevant than ever. We discussed various risks associated with AI, particularly concerning ethics, job displacement in UX, and the challenges posed by misleading images and bots. While some conversations felt a bit apocalyptic it was inspiring to hear all the positive potential these tools can bring us when used thoughtfully. For example, AI is revolutionising fields like medical imaging, helping to detect conditions like cancer, and it can also simplify everyday tasks like prioritising our to-do lists. On a personal note, I’ve been experimenting with AI tools like ChatGPT, and they've helped me in some fun and practical ways: Creating a marathon training plan 🏃‍♀️ Finding recipe inspiration 🍽️ Write me some motivational words to help me to put away washing 👚 Prioritising tasks for better productivity 🗂️ Explaining the rules of Ruby through a whimsical story inspired by Disney 🦁 And even designing a Pixar-style Zwift avatar—a must for my cycling session 🚴‍♀️ Whatever your stance on AI, it’s clear that it has very much arrived. I believe a spirit of healthy curiosity will serve us well as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. I’m excited to continue using my AI cheerleader as I explore its possibilities!Ciara Atkinson
