I was fortunate enough to attend talks from both Maggie Appleton and Glenn Jones at today.
I don’t feel I see enough people being critical of how they utilise with AI within UX practices or acknowledging it’s limitations , so it was refreshing to hear these speakers in particular.
Maggie’s presentation on “The dark forest and generative AI” gave us clear principles and guidelines to go by when utilising AI within projects , whilst Glenn gave a very informative lecture on how LLMs work and advised discernment around generative AI in context to how we are naturally inclined to anthropomorphise what we perceive to “sound” human.
AI is not an “everything machine”, we should set boundaries over how we use it as well as establishing clear, realistic expectations of it’s capacity.
